{Photo Session} Blue Eyed Nephew

My sister is getting ready for a big trip to visit her in-laws and wanted to bring them an extra special gift. She asked if I would photograph her boys and have prints made. Of course! It’s what I do!!

We decided to have 2 separate sessions – one for each of the boys. Today I’ll show you a few of my favorite shots from my session with my older nephew. If you’ve been reading here for awhile, he’s the one I made those bowling cupcakes for.

A few days before the shoot, every time I saw him (we live in the same building) I would tease him that we had a “date” coming up. He was going to spend some fun time with his favorite aunt! (I better be his favorite, I’ve cooked him dinner enough times!) Honestly, I just love to bug him.

We had fun together – just him and I.  Even thought it’s my sister, it’s so much easier to photograph kids when the parents aren’t around. There are less distractions and no “acting up”.

This kid has the bluest eyes!! Not just because he’s my nephew, but they are truly one of the nicest blues I’ve ever seen. They sparkle!

I definitely had to take a bunch of shots in color to show off those baby blues.

But then I also couldn’t help myself and made some in black and white. It’s definitely what I’m drawn to.

This next one was my favorite shot of the whole session. My sister and bro in-law agreed. Little bad boy Eminem…

Towards the end, my sister came back and I love endng sessions with some shots with the mom (or dad).

The prints came in this week and I have to say, they came out really good! Nothing like using a professional lab! I can’t wait to see the “Eminem” print framed and hanging on her wall!

Next week I’ll show you how things went with my other nephew. He’s also too cute for words!
