Just before the holidays, I wrapped up the 13 week After School Photography Class I had been teaching to 3rd to 5th graders here in Riverdale. The class was really fun and the kids were so enthusiastic!
The school has a quarterly newspaper and my class was featured in the first issue. So exciting!
The article was written by 2 of the kids in my class. They had such sweet things to say I was truly flattered.
Comments like:
“Photography is so exciting because it makes you discover so many new things around you that you never noticed before”
and
“I think Photo Class is awesome because of Ms. Natal’s (a.k.a. Olivia’s mom’s) hands on teaching style”.
So rewarding for me that they actually enjoyed the class and LEARNED something!
By the way, I was also cracking up when I read the article – never once did these kids ever call me “Ms. Natal”. It’s very casual in my class – first name basis all the way! Or for those that already knew me from my daughter, it was “Ms. Olivia’s mom”. I could live with that. 🙂
A new year brings a new round of classes. My next class begins next Tuesday January 10th and runs for 11 weeks. I’m really looking forward to it! Creating new lessons and meeting the kids. I wonder if I’ll have any repeat students!!
Here’s a link to the registration form in case your kid:
1 – is a 3rd to 5th grade student at PS24
2 – is available on Tuesday afternoons
3 – wants to have fun with photography!
(Registration is done through the Riverdale Y)

I love it when my kid’s friend’s call me “Gabriel’s mom”. It’s the best title isn’t it?
Your class sounds like fun! I wish I lived closer. I’d send my kids for sure.
