How To Make Monstermallow Pops

I gave you a recap of our MonstAr party in a previous post and told you about the Monstermallow pops we made. I thought I’d get into more detail about how to make them in this post.

First off…

You Will Need:

  • A bag of marshmallows – regular size
  • White lollipop sticks
  • Candy Melts in a variety of colors
  • Sprinkles
  • Candy Eyes
  • Wax paper
  • Spoon

If you have the kids helping you it could get a little messy so cover your table with newspaper or a cloth, then place a piece of wax paper down. This is where your pops will dry.

Take a microwave safe bowl and fill it with the candy melts. Use a separate bowl for reach color. Microwave in small time increments – you don’t want it to burn – maybe 20 to 30 seconds at a time. Mix in between until it’s all melted.

Dip the tip of your lollipop stick into the melted candy melts just to get a little on the tip, then place the stick about halfway through the marshmallow. This will help to keep the marshmallow in place.

Dip the marshmallow into the melted candy melts to cover. If it’s not deep enough, use a spoon to help cover. Shake some of the excess off so it won’t be a drippy mess.

If you want to make the monster look like it has hair, spoon a different color on the top and let it drip down a bit.

Place the pops on wax paper to dry. As it’s drying this is when you start decorating. The candy melt needs to be a bit melted to hold the decorations in place. Place the candy eyes and sprinkles on to create cute monster faces…

Once they’re all dry, take them off the wax paper and arrange them on a nice platter.

There’s no wrong way to do these! Get creative and if you make them, put a link to the picture in the comments so we can see them.

Enjoy!
