Grandma’s Roasted Chicken WIngs

Grandma’s Roasted Chicken WIngs

Who doesn’t love chicken wings, right?  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t advise eating them all the time but once n a while it’s a good indulgence and they’re so easy to cook.  I have  a couple of different recipes that I rotate through but this one is really easy.  It’s inspired by my mom’s roasted turkey that we usually eat only once a year at Thanksgiving.

For this recipe I made about 24 wings.

In a bowl, mix together 1 1/2 tablespoons of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Next we’re gong to drizzle in some Canola oil. We’re making a marinade so you want to put in enough oil so that it becomes like a thick soup consistency.  I used about 3 1/2 tablesoons.

If you have some time to marinate, you can put the clean chicken wings and marinade in a ziploc bag and store in the fridge for a few hours.  I didn’t have that time on the night I made these so I just put the cleaned and dried chicken wings on a foil lined metal sheet pan and drizzled the marinade over the wings.  With my hands, I mixed everything together to make sure the wings were fully covered.

Cook in your oven at 365 degrees for about an hour or so.  Rotate the wings halfway through cooking so both sides get a bit crispy.  I like when the wings get really crispy so that’s basically how I determine when they’re done.

For me also, I like the flatter side of the wing which works out well in my family because they all like mini drumstick side.

To balance out the meal and add something healthy I also made kale salad.  A family favorite!

What’s your favorite recipe for wings?
