This week’s Fleeting Moment photo comes from Governor’s Island here in NYC.
A few weeks ago we decided to take the girls on a first time visit to Governor’s Island. I’ll do an expanded post on that another day but just wanted to share this photo. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and they spotted a Mini Melts Ice Cream machine. As I was digging through my bag to see if I had the exact change, they were waiting ahead of me playing on the steps. I looked up for a minute and noticed the golden color of the sun bouncing off the brick wall giving everything an Indian Summer kind of feel. I have no idea what my older daughter was looking at – almost as if in a trance, but I loved how the sun was highlighting both of them. I snapped away and caught this photo:
Within seconds after I clicked, she turned back to her sister and resumed their play.
