Today is my birthday and I woke up to a surprise of a home cooked breakfast – a rarity especially on a school day! The girls made some decorations,
set the table and helped the hubbs make breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, bacon and my favorite – Popovers!!
I first had popovers when I was single and living in the city and would frequently go out for Sunday Brunch – a favorite activity of mine at the time. I lived about 10 blocks away from a restaurant called Popovers. Their popovers are amazing! Big, fluffy and kind of eggy at the same time and they serve it with strawberry butter. At home we had some raspberry jam so I made my own raspberry butter combo. Popovers don’t seem the same without a sweet berry butter!
For your Popover pleasure…
Go to Popovers Cafe on the Upper West Side, Manhattan.
The hubbs got the popover recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. If he could make it, you can. He didn’t even have a real popover pan – just a regular muffin pan.
I would like to get a real popover pan though – minis would be great for parties.
I would love to try making these giant Gruyere Popovers – YUM!
Or learn how to make Neiman Marcus Popovers.
