Yesterday I told you about the cake I made for my niece’s Bat Mitzvah. Besides the cake, I was also asked to make gift tags. As a gift to the kids attending, they made up t-shirts through the Humane Society of New York. As I mentioned, she’s a TOTAL animal lover and they are a very charitable family so this was a perfect fit.
The t-shirts were black with white writing and they wanted a simple way to package them. Rolling them up and tying them off with a nice ribbon and tag seemed to be the way to go.
I was sent a photo and the wording to go along with it. I created a circular design in Photoshop and used one of my circle craft punches to cut out 100 tags.
Originally they wanted to personalize the tag with each kid’s name on it but as soon as I made them envision the scenario of saying good-bye and searching through 100 shirts to find each kid’s name on it, they soon agreed that that would be a nightmare!! Instead I suggested color coding the ribbon by the size of the shirt, so that’s what I did.
As I was packing up the tags, when I held up the group with the white ribbon, I instantly thought “bouquet”.
That’s all my daughter needed to hear for the drama to kick in.
“Ooooh! These smell so lovely – fresh picked from the garden”
“Waaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! How could you leave me at the alter!! I hate you!!”
Like I’ve said, Drama Queen to the max!!
Still more photos to come of the actual party!! Stay tuned…
