Yesterday I told you about the services portion of Josh’s Bar Mitzvah at HIR. Here are the details from the reception.
The reception took place in Yonkers, NY at a place called Xaviar’s X2O on the Hudson. Just as the name implies, it is right along the Hudson River. The main room was very picturesque – large windows with views of the Hudson from all sides.
Josh’s grandfather did the blessing over the challah and many of his friends and relatives were honored during the traditional candle lighting ceremony. A video of photographs played as everyone watched and relived special memories. There was plenty of food and drinks and of course dessert.
The candy bar had a baseball theme for his love of the sport. Everyone danced and had a great time!
So much planning goes into these big events and then before you know it, it’s over! I’m glad everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
On Friday I have another Mitzvah to photograph. This time for twin girls!! I’m heading back to CSAIR (another synagogue in Riverdale, NY) for a twin Bat Mitzvah family portrait session. I photographed their brother’s Bar Mitzvah a year ago.
Should be fun!
