I’ve been getting a bunch of requests lately for Bar Mitzvah photography which jolted my brain to remember this Bar Mitzvah I photographed late last year that I had been meaning to post.
I met Barbara – Nathan’s mom a while ago through our involvement with Riverdale Rising Stars. She asked if I would photograph the family formals for Nathan’s Bar Mitzvah being held at the Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale. CSAIR for short! I was there months earlier photographing another Bar Mitzvah.
Nathan was fortunate enough to have extended family fly in to be with him on this special day. I was there while Nathan and the Rabbi practiced his speech for the following day. You can tell how proud he was of his heritage – especially of his Opa – Grandpa in Dutch. Yes, I learned a new word that day!
Kids are always fun to photograph. You never know what to expect!
In April I’ll be attending a Bat Mitzvah as a guest. Which reminds me – I need to send in the response card! Off to the mailbox I go!
