Weekend Activity: A Visit To Dubois Farm

I am in search of things to do this weekend because I know the words “what are we doing this weekend” are just around the corner.  Actually, exactly at 2:20 when school lets out.

The leaves are really starting to change here in NY.  It would be the perfect weekend for a drive upstate to check out the foliage. Always makes for great photo opportunities!

A couple of weekends ago we headed north to the Hudson Valley to a farm (yes, another farm) called Dubois Farm. This one was actually fun!

There were lots of activities to keep you busy.

First we went apple picking. We ended up with 34 apples!! We still have a bunch left. I need to look for some good recipes. They also had grapes and tomatoes but the tomatoes were either green or over ripe.  Lots of pumpkins to choose from as well.

The hubbs and I entered a doughnut eating contest to see who could eat one the fastest. I had a strategy. As soon as the woman said GO, I crushed it in my hands to break it into smaller pieces to make it easier to eat. I’m very competitive when it comes to games! The hubbs on the other hand was slowly, casually enjoying his doughnut. We both lost and ended up buying a dozen to take home with us.

They had a Tiny Village area made up of a bunch of small houses for the kids to run around in along with a bunch of hula hoops.

Probably the most fun part of the day was getting lost in the corn maze!

Whenever we’re out I of course have my camera.  It’s really there to capture our day but I don’t always expect to get those extra special WOW shots. When I do, I feel like it is a successful, gratifying day. I actually got a few from this day…

I even had this next one made into a 16X24 print wrap and have it hanging in our home.
