With the storm hanging over our heads, who knows what will be for this Halloween. Fortunately we had a few Halloween events over the weekend. I thought I would share a few tips for documenting your Halloween whether you end up putting your photos in a scrapbook or share online in a personal blog.
Yes, we all want the posed photos in costumes but there are way more interesting photos than this.
If you go to a Halloween event, Halloween party or even during trick or treating, try to notice the details. These elements help support the story of your Halloween.
Also, look for the storytelling elements. Don’t just wait until your kids are all dressed in their costumes. Photograph them getting ready as well.
If you’re at an event, capture the action moments
even if they are gross!
Don’t forget about the candy – they’re always trying to sneak it!
Be on the lookout for special moments. They are always happening!
I hope these tips help you to get some extra special photos this Halloween.

Wish I had read this before Halloween! Great tips. I usually have friends over to my house so I’m too busy to photograph anything, but my husband did get some good shots of the kids in their costumes.
So how was Halloween? How did you do in the storm? I’m hoping for an update soon!

Our Halloween was really fun. Our building isn’t great for trick or treating but we went over to our friend’s building Lots of action and candy! We also went to a fun Halloween party last night. Good for kids and adults. I have to finish packing up the Halloween decorations this weekend.
No problem with the storm by us except that the kids were off from school all week!
