I recently photographed the show HONK! Jr. for the Summer Stage Performing Arts Camp. I have to say, this really brought back memories for me. My older daughter went to this camp for 5 years. Her first show was Beauty and The Beast when she was not even 7 years old. She was really into theater at the time and it was so much fun to see her on stage.
The next show that she did was HONK! in the Fall immediately following the summer show. I never heard of the show but it ended up being really cute. She played one of the ducklings and was excited to have some lines – she was 7 then.
I remembered the scenes – like this one where the ducklings are popping out of the eggs – I even remembered some of the lines! Here are some photos from when my daughter was in the show. Awww! (First duckling on the left)
My daughter has since moved on from theater but some of these other kids are now in performing arts schools and working professionally. One of her friends just finished an Off Broadway Show called Three Days To See. So inspiring to see such talent from young kids!
Fast forward to this summer’s production – the costumes looked as cute on these kids now as they did back then.
This boy’s brother played this role 5 years ago with my daughter. Crazy to now see the younger brother in the role! Where has the time gone?!?
