I guess we shouldn’t be so complacent about the overwhelming smell of gas that sometimes permeates throughout our building. This happened yesterday when my daughter and I came back from an unexpected doctor’s visit. (yay, no strep!)
As we walked through the lobby, the smell was really powerful. Should I call the fire department or just ignore it and hope the person who’s gas is on will soon realize it and turn it off?
Well, in the time I was deciding what to do, someone else reacted quicker and we soon started hearing the fire trucks approaching our building. 2 large engines, firemen pouring out, unscrewing the fire hydrant in front of our building, and putting up the ladder.
Is it that we’re just jaded NYers that planted us in front of the window, observing and taking pictures as if it was a show rather than think to run out the building?
As always, if you have any reflections to share, put the link in the comments.
Just a heads up – 4 more weeks to this reflection project then we move on to a new one! Stay tuned for the announcement of what it is. I hope you’ll join me!
