The weather has been relatively mild here in NY with only one (freak) snowstorm back in October. The hopes of a white Christmas are long gone and now we were left wondering if it would ever snow again. This past Saturday when we woke up, the streets were covered in pure white loveliness – something my girls have been waiting for all winter. Yay! Time to break out the new sleds!!
In the past when it snowed, we would go to a local park over here called Seton Park. It’s a big open field but the hills are pretty small. It’s time to graduate to the big time!
There’s a much larger hill down the road from us so we wanted to try that one.
All of us that is except my older daughter. CHICKEN!!!
We told her she didn’t have to go down but she’d have to watch. Two hours later, we literally had to drag her away! It was so much fun!
I went down with my little one first. We went so fast and because the sled is round, it kept spinning and we were going down backwards. This was scary because this giant hill ends at the street! You know – moving cars, buses…you name it!
Looking back at my photos I almost feel like I was in upstate NY at a ski resort.
Don’t these look so vacationy? 🙂
Someone had a little too much fun
and then pooped out just in time to go home and eat some homemade chicken soup.
Later on over the weekend, I sent the local paper (The Riverdale Press) some of my photos in case they were looking for some snow shots.
The paper came out yesterday. My sister called me excitedly to tell me that my husband and little one were in the paper.
Where’s the excitement about the NAME under the photo?
Yep – it’s mine! That’s ok, I was excited for myself. Totally made my day! 🙂
Has it snowed much where you live?

Congrats! The snow looks like so much fun.
