I can’t believe this is already my third summer running a one week Photography Camp!
Each summer I try out some new fun activities but keep a few favorites. Each summer is unique because of the kids and my assistant. We have 11 kids – a mix of new and returning, ranging in age from 9 to 13 along with a new assistant. I know her from the theater group so I’m sure the kids will love her.
We are based out of the Riverdale Y but we also go on field trips for 3 of the days. On Tuesday we’ll be at Wave Hill learning about nature and macro photography,
Wednesday at the Bronx Zoo – what to look for when photographing animals as well as paying attention to what else is going on at the zoo.
On Thursday we head into the city to go to the High Line – this is a great mix of art, nature and people watching!
On Friday we end our time together with a Gallery Show of their work. It’s fun to see it all come together.
On Monday I have a cool surprise for them – something we haven’t done before! I will tell you about it next week – just in case any of the campers or parents are reading but here’s a hint…
Cross your fingers for me that it doesn’t rain next week! I saw in the forecast that there is a slight chance – hopefully it will just pass.
