Last month I had the opportunity to photograph a really fun Bar Mitzvah. It was enjoyable to record their special event. While the services of course tend to be more serious, the family was both lighthearted and emotional.
The service took place at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale. This was my first time photographing there. The sanctuary was very large and able to fit many guests. Josh seemed at ease and to have a special rapport with the Rabbi.
It felt special to think that one day this “just turned teen” will be showing these images to his own family. It just blows me away each time and I am so grateful that my clients trust me with that big responsibility. I know for myself whenever I am at my mom’s house I always look through photos from the past – reliving memories or finding out about events that happened before I was even born.
The reception was held in Yonkers, NY at Xaviar’s X2O on the Hudson. More on that tomorrow!!
